For the last 12 years, John has been responsible for the design, build and implementation of their highly-acclaimed, multi-award winning semi-automated National Distribution Centre in Magna Park, Milton Keynes. The customer-centric facility has an operating footprint in excess of 2 million square feet, and is industry leading, enabling one pool of stock to be used for all shop deliveries and customer fulfillment. This includes John Lewis’s online proposition, which will account for almost 50% of total sales by 2020.

Lately, Philippe was focusing on the final segment of the supply chain called The Last Mile which is the direct connection to the customers. Getting the right inventory, at the right place, at the right time in order to offer to customers a wider product selection with a wide choice of delivery services, at the best delivery experience and the best cost. Philippe is based in Luxembourg. Philippe was with Amazon since 2000, where he joined Amazon.fr as Distribution Centre General Manager, moving to Amazon.co.uk (Scotland) in 2004, supporting business growth within the UK and setting up two new distribution centers in Glasgow and Edinburgh, to finally move in Amazon EU Headquarter in Luxembourg to hold several executive positions in their European Operations. Before joining Amazon, Philippe worked for Danzas (now DHL) and FDS in France. In March 2018, Philippe is starting his own consultancy business, continues teaching Supply Chain Management at University in Luxembourg and France and participates to executive board activities. Philippe Hemard has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accountancy and a Master in Logistics received from the University of Aix-en-Provence, France.

Walter Van der Meiren, is an experienced customs and brokerage professional with more than 30 years’ experience in the field, including more than 20 years of experiences at UPS. He currently serves as Director for Customs Brokerage at the UPS Europe region office in Brussels, dealing with regulatory, training and compliance.Prior to his current role he gained experiences in various other functions at UPS, including as Europe region Brokerage Systems Manager, industrial engineering OSSG Manager, UPS Cologne air hub as Brokerage Division Manager and Benelux Brokerage Manager. Philip has joined the Altitude Angel from NATS (UKs Air Navigation Service provider). At NATS Philip held the position of the RPAS Domain Expert and was the focal point for all RPAS activities. During his time with NATS Philip supported a number of programmes ranging from the Department for Transport’s Pathfinder programme, the drone Industry Action Group, ASTRAEA, and he held a seat on the ICAO RPAS Panel. Working as an Air Traffic Controller in the joint operations room at the Swanwick Centre, Philip brings with him excellent knowledge of ATM procedures, airspace and insight into how drones can be integrated safely into a manned environment.
